Building Right Along

Moved the Phlyin Phanatic to a larger warehouse space this week which was next door so that we didnt have to saw our lovely craft in half to move it out once it was built. Slowly but surely we are building right along (well not that slow since we have about a month to complete this thing). We like the pressure.

This is Philadelphia and the Phlyin’ Phanatics are here to fly high, no lie. This hometown hero squad was immaculately conceived by the spirits of early aviation engineering and is determined to soar above the competition. Inspired by a fluffy green mascot that shakes his belly like a bowl full of jelly, annoys competitors and entertains the masses, Team Phlyin’ Phanatics, as Philly Legend Harry Kalas sang, will have “High Hopes” of winning the 2010 Flugtag in Philadelphia while soaring to the ecclesiastical words of Harry himself. “That ball is outtttttaaaa here…..!”

Handpicked from the social web of furry rebel tarantula Bryan “Beasley” Reese, the team consists of Adam “Rugrat” Denard, Dan “Dubs” White, Julie “Jules” Jones, and Ryan “Bung” Young. They have been brought together by the common desire to win, get hyped on Red Bull, and bathe in the Delaware. This five-some’s craft will pay homage to the Philly Phanatic with their depiction of the beloved mascot. After carefully studying fowl, paper airplanes and superman, The Phlyin’ Phanatics have designed their craft out of lightweight materials, a wide wingspan, and highlights of green, red and white. Having witnessed the mayhem of the Red Bull Soap Box Derby, this team is no stranger to the Red Bull event circuit. While watching the Phlyin’ Phanatics soar, look out for belly dances and regurgitated Red Bull, as this team likes to push it to the limit.
